Ariana Grande Taking Forever 21 To Court

Ariana Grande is taking Forever 21 to court!

The “Thank u, next” pop star is accusing the popular clothing brand of using her likeness in an advertisement back in February. Read on…

CelebNFashion247.com reports that Ariana Grande has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Forever 21 for using her likeness.

According to reports, the ad in question concerns a post from Forever 21 that shows an alleged look-a-like model rocking Grande’s infamous high ponytail and cat ears from her “7 Rings” video.

The It was also accused of copying her look from “thank u, next.”

Forever 21 also used Grande’s lyrics from “Seven Rings”, “Gee thanks, just bought it” in the ad.

Interestingly enough, the lawsuit says Forever 21 approached Grande about an endorsement deal before releasing the ad.

The ads “centered around social media marketing, including, but not limited to, Twitter posts, Instagram posts, and Instagram stories.”

But according to the lawsuit it “never came to fruition because the amounts that Forever 21 offered to pay for the right to use Ms. Grande’s name and likeness were insufficient for an artist of her stature.”

In the court documents, Grande alleged “The resemblance is uncanny and Forever 21’s intent was clear: to suggest to the viewing public that Ms. Grande endorsed Forever 21, its products, and was affiliated with Forever 21.”
