Kim Kardashian West Responds to “Cultural Appropriation” Controversy

Kim Kardashian West Responds to “Cultural Appropriation” Controversy, but does NOT offer to drop the name Kimono.

Kanye West’s wife decided to go with the blah look he like with her new shapewear line which she decided to call Kimono. The problem is that her new line has NOTHING to do with the rich cultural background, nor does it fit the defintion of Kimono.

Once again Kim Kardashian West shows us all how trully vapid she is. This comes as no surprise because she and her family tend to be self-absorbed with themselves. Just when you think the Kardashians are finally staying in their lane and doing good, Kim finds a way to screw it up. She tried to clean up her mess with a statement, but in case no one noticed, she said NOTHING about dropping the name Kimono, so its still unaceptable. Kim Kardashian West Responds to “Cultural Appropriation” Controversy

CelebNFashion247.com reports Kim Kardashian West has released a statement in response to the backlash she’s received for naming her shapewear brand Kimono:

Kim Kardashian West statement reads as follows:

I understand and have a deep respect for the significance of the kimono in Japanese culture and have no plans to design or release any garments that would in any way resemble or dishonor the traditional garment.

She continues:

I made the decision to name my company Kimono, not to disassociate the word from its Japanese roots but as a nod to the beauty and detail that goes into a garment. Filing a trademark is a source identifier that will allow me to use the word for my shapewear and intimates line but does not preclude or restrict anyone, in this instance, from making kimonos or using the word kimono in reference to the traditional garment. My solution wear brand is built with inclusivity and diversity at its core and I’m incredibly proud of what’s to come.

Nowhere in the statement did she say that she would rename the brand and leave the name Kimono alone.

We are sorry, but these are just empty words to appeas the masses. Kim will still be releasing shapewear under the name Kimono. People should start a petition to force her to stop using the name. Has the butcher of Kimono given Japanese culture anything? NOPE! Instead, she disrespects the culture by stealing Kimono from their culture all for selfish self gain.

Take a look at what people are saying on social media. No one is happy with her:
