The Betsy Ross flag is a protected symbol of the Sons of the American Revolution. The flag is an early design of the flag of the United States which Kaep is dubbing offensive.
During the time of the Betsy Ross flag, slavery was happening in the USA. Betsy’s flag was flown before slavery was abolished in the US. The Ross flag was also created during the American Revolution and later adopted for use by the American Nazi party.
The only problem Kaepernick is having with the Betsy Ross flag is that they represent a time of slavery.
