Nike withdrew the Air Max 1 Quick Strike Fourth of July trainers, which were intended to celebrate US Independence Day, after Mr Kaepernick said the firm should not use a symbol he and others may find offensive.

In case you’re not aware, the Betsy Ross flag is a flag that distinguishing characteristic features 13 stars arranged in a circle to represent the unity of the 13 colonies. The Betsy Ross flag is a protected symbol of the Sons of the American Revolution. The flag is an early design of the flag of the United States which Kaep is dubbing offensive.

During the time of the Betsy Ross flag, slavery was happening in the USA. Betsy’s flag was flown before slavery was abolished in the US. The Ross flag was also created during the American Revolution and later adopted for use by the American Nazi party.

The only problem Kaepernick is having with the Betsy Ross flag is that they represent a time of slavery.

He forgets that the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, but like his kneeling, Colin feels he is speaking for the millions who can’t. We love that with the kneeling, but NOT with the sneakers.
